Sir Knights, some sad news from SK Jim Koenigsknecht regarding his father. Let us all remember to say a prayer for his father. Brother Jim writes:

    Hello Brothers
I’ve been out of the office since the end of May to go back home with my Dad’s diagnosis. Unfortunately, he passed away on June 1st. This was only 7 weeks after he first went to the doctor with the pain in his stomach.

He will definitely be missed, not just by the family but the whole community especially the church, school and the Knights. The turnout for his visitation and funeral was one of the largest the funeral home had seen. Over 50 Knights, over half of which were 4th degree in full regalia and 30 members of the Daughters of Isabella came to the rosaries held at the funeral home. My Mother is a member of the D of I and said that she had never seen so many of the D of I come to a rosary. The parish pastor even started to break up when he started the Knight’s rosary. We had full color guards by the Knights and the Michigan State Police prior to the funeral Mass attended by approximately 300 and fed over 250 at the luncheon.

Thank you all for the prayers for Dad.

    Yours in Christ.
    Jim

Please pray for Sir Knight Max Frohnwieser. I understand from SK Larry that he is currently in Eagle Ridge Hospital and is awaiting open heart surgery! Please continue to pray also for SK Larry as he deals with his sciatica.

Please pray for SK Larry Forseille as he deals with his debilitating sciatica. SK Larry was to join us for the Assembly’s Installation of Officers and Awards banquet. However, he’s had to cancel due to his worsening condition.

SK Larry is always the first one to attend to the needs of others who are sick, in pain or even just need a ride. He’s the epitome of a Knight of Columbus who cares for his brothers. oPlease pray for a speedy recovery.

Tonight, prayers were held for SK Vincent. There were four priests, a PSD and 5 Honour Guards at the Post. District Marshall Elemer, Faithful Navigator Mark, Faithful Comptroller Eric and Faithful Sentinels Larry and Zeus made up the men in Regalia who posted guard for SK Vincent’s casket.
SK Sam Hu recorded the proceedings and photos have been uploaded to the Portfolio for viewing.

As many Knights will be attending the March for Life tomorrow, we will have limited number of HGs for the funeral mass at 10.00. However, I understand that we will have at least 10 SKs in regalia tomorrow.

A message from Eric Rechner, Vincent’s son:
    Dear Friends and family,

It is with profound sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dearest Father, Vincent Anthony Rechner, beloved ‘Papa’ to my children, inspiration and encouragement to myself and my dear wife Justine, mentor as a figure of ‘Father’, and example of fidelity to duty, marriage, family, and Catholic Faith.

After 3 weeks of a courageous fight with Pneumonia, often coming back from the brink, my father succumbed to his illness in the end this morning in Vancouver at 9:30am. He passed peacefully in the presence of my mother and brothers.

Please pray for the repose of his soul, and pray for the consolation of his dear wife, my mother Krystyna, in her deep grief.

    Sincerely, Eric and family.

    SK Elemer’s Brother Emeric

    Good news all!

Just a few months ago, SK Elemer’s brother had been diagnosed with Prostate cancer with a reading of over 1,000. At the meeting when he broke the news, SK Elemer basically said his brother did not have a chance, but asked that all pray for him nevertheless as he undergoes treatment.

Just a few days ago, at the last Executive Meeting, SK Elemer announced that his brother’s latest reading was in the low 10’s! This prognosis basically meant that Brother Emeric is now pretty much cleared and his cancer is in remission! Keep praying for Brother Emerick and SK Elemer’s family.

    Compassionate Coordinator’s Report – Jan.08.2012
    Mary Knechtel

Mary was a warm wonderful friend to everyone she met. She was very active in the CWL for 50 years

She was elected President at Assumption parish and instigated the ” no bake sale ” which netted

many dollars over the years. She enjoyed the company of the Knights and attended all the

    meetings until her health deteriorated.

Mary will be greatly missed by all.
